MCST: Human-Centered Software Development and Expertise in the Power Sector
MCST (CEO Woo Hee-tak), selected as an excellent partner of KEPCO KDN in the field of software development,
focuses on combining humans and computers. The company’s vision is to leverage computers, the tools of modern civilization,
to develop software and programs that make human life more convenient.
As a result, MCST directs all its attention to people—its customers and employees—and provides services until the customers are fully satisfied.
Even when projects exceed contractual obligations or impose internal burdens, the company is committed to completing the work for the sake of project quality.
CEO Woo Hee-tak shared, “There was a project to develop a performance evaluation system for the Power Research Institute’s staff,
which involved quantifying researchers’ papers. The project was so challenging that a colleague who had worked with me for over ten years gave up midway.
I personally went to Daejeon, worked overnight for 15 days, and completed the project myself.

Another strength of MCST is the retention of long-term employees.
In an industry with high turnover, many of the original staff members who joined in 1995 remain with the company,
bringing extensive expertise and specialized knowledge.
Customer- and Employee-Centered Management
This human-centered approach allows clients to receive highly refined software programs from top experts. According to CEO Woo,
MCST’s selection as a KEPCO KDN excellent partner for two consecutive years is rooted in this philosophy of prioritizing both customers and employees.
He explained, “Regardless of cost or gain, we provide services until the customer is fully satisfied.
Our specialized expertise, developed over 14 years of software development in the power sector,
is likely why we were recognized as an excellent partner by KEPCO KDN.”
Since its founding, MCST has worked closely with public power companies, gaining a deep understanding of their requirements.
One such requirement is meticulous document management. Public enterprises, which undergo multiple annual audits from the government and the National Assembly,
require careful handling of documents. MCST maintains and provides even years-old records whenever needed, reflecting its understanding of client needs.
Additionally, CEO Woo personally oversees the entire software project lifecycle—from sales and development to management and
final inspection—ensuring the highest program quality.
This specialized approach has earned the company strong evaluations not only from KEPCO KDN but also from KEPCO, Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power,
and Korea East-West Power. MCST also collaborates with leading private SI companies such as Samsung SDS, LG CNS, KT, and SK.
“Let’s All Move Forward Together”
The company motto, adopted through an employee contest in 1997, is “Let’s Make Efforts and Move Forward Together.”
True to this principle, MCST aims to create a workplace where new employees can work until retirement.
CEO Woo is selective when hiring, but once an employee joins, he commits to supporting them throughout their career.
Employees are encouraged to excel in their fields, with the possibility of eventually becoming CEO if they achieve top performance.
CEO Woo also stated, “Our Company continues to evolve. In the long term, we plan to list shares and distribute ownership to employees.
I am prepared to hand over the company to someone who can manage it better if I feel my role has been fulfilled.”
To achieve these goals, MCST actively engages in business development, proposing systems such as power fuel logistics optimization to power companies.
The company is also expanding its Data Warehousing projects and IT outsourcing services for data centers.
