MCST, a partner in the ICT field for public institutions (CEO Woo Hee-tak), and Korea Pers Tech Co., Ltd.
(CEO Jang Young-kyu) signed an industry-academia cooperation MOU with Mokpo National University (President Choi Il)
on September 23 at 11:00 AM in the second-floor conference room of the Mokpo National University main building.
The agreement aims to develop ICT technologies (R&D) and train specialized personnel in connection with the relocation
of public institutions to Naju Innovation City.
The ceremony was attended by approximately 10 people, including Woo Hee-tak, President of MCST,
Executive Director Yoo Kyung-jong, President Choi Il of Mokpo National University, Park Soon-young,
Director of the LINC Project Group, and senior officials from Mokpo National University. Through this agreement,
MCST and Mokpo National University established a family-company relationship to jointly pursue industry-academia cooperation,
including linking outstanding graduates to employment through internships and on-the-job training,
developing customized education programs and training specialized technical personnel, and sharing equipment and facilities.
They also agreed to cooperate on lifelong learning for employees, field-oriented education linked to R&D,
and training programs to strengthen SME capabilities.
As the first initiative under this MOU, Mokpo National University opened an advanced JAVA programming course in the second semester
of 2014 for science and engineering students, tailored to meet the ICT personnel needs of public institutions and partner companies
relocating to Naju Innovation City. Additionally, non-technical students, mainly from the business school,
were offered SAP ERP courses in financial accounting and ABAP programming,
running from October to the end of December with both theoretical and practical training.
Students completing these programs will participate in winter field training at MCST and other companies to gain practical experience.
MCST, as a partner of KEPCO KDN, plans to establish a branch in Jeonnam province, hire local talented personnel,
and deploy them to support public institution projects following the relocation.
Meanwhile, President Choi Il of Mokpo National University stated, “Through this agreement,
Mokpo National University will fully support the development of R&D technologies required by companies
relocating to Naju Innovation City and local businesses. We will also focus on developing customized education programs to
address the demand for skilled personnel and cultivate field-ready professionals.”
